Context
The project focused on redeveloping the Minota Hagey residence area at the University of Waterloo into a fictional residential development while considering real site conditions, zoning limits, parking needs, grading constraints, and stormwater requirements.
Approach
I collected and applied real-world surveying data using automatic levels and total stations, then used Civil 3D and InfraWorks to model the existing site elevations. From there, I helped design a proposed residential layout that followed City of Waterloo zoning bylaws, slope requirements, building code considerations, provincial regulations, and bioretention-based stormwater management principles.
Outcome
The final proposal recreated the existing site conditions and presented a practical residential development concept with grading, parking, zoning, and stormwater management considerations built into the design.
