Context
The project addressed flood risk in the City of Cambridge by developing a conceptual earthen embankment design intended to help protect the area during a 20-year flood event.
Approach
I worked with a multidisciplinary team to evaluate flood mitigation strategies using hydrologic, elevation, geotechnical, and hydraulic data. My work included slope design, seepage control, drainage layout, and soil characterization through sieve analysis, hydrometer testing, and Atterberg limits testing. I also used MATLAB to help model embankment behavior and contributed to cost estimation, scheduling, and technical report writing.
Outcome
The team produced a conceptual flood protection proposal supported by engineering analysis, soil testing, modeling, cost planning, and a coordinated technical report for the City of Cambridge.
